The Agreement
By creating an account or using IESF Academy, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform. These Terms form a binding contract between you and the International Esports Federation (IESF).
Your Account
- You must be at least 13 years old to register. Some courses or features may require you to be 18+.
- You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- One person, one account. Don't share accounts or transfer them.
- If we suspect your account is being used in violation of these Terms, we may suspend access while we investigate.
Courses & Certificates
When you enrol in a course, you get access to its lessons, materials, quizzes, exams, and any live sessions for as long as the course is published — typically indefinitely, but we don't guarantee permanent availability.
Certificates are issued by IESF Academy on completion of qualifying coursework. Each certificate has a verifiable QR code. We reserve the right to revoke a certificate if we determine the underlying coursework was completed fraudulently (cheating on exams, plagiarism on assignments, etc.).
Payments & Refunds
Paid courses are sold at the price displayed at checkout, in the currency shown. We use Stripe to process payments — see our Privacy Policy for what payment data is shared.
Refund policy: you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not completed more than 25% of the course. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and take 5–10 business days to appear. Email [email protected] with your enrolment ID to request one.
If we materially change a course you already paid for (remove core content, downgrade certification recognition), we will offer a full refund regardless of completion.
Instructor Terms
If you apply and are approved as an instructor, you agree to additional terms covering content quality, intellectual property, instructor revenue share (where applicable), and conduct toward students. You will be asked to accept those terms before publishing your first course.
You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant IESF Academy a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute your content on the Academy.
Partner Academies
The Academy platform hosts multiple partner academies— member federations, universities, training centres — that operate their own programmes. When you enrol in a course owned by a partner academy, that academy's instructors handle the teaching and assessment.
IESF Academy provides the platform and the certificate framework, but partner academies are responsible for the quality and content of their own programmes. If you have a complaint about a specific course or instructor, contact the partner academy first.
User Content
You retain ownership of anything you submit (assignments, discussion posts, comments, profile content). You grant the Academy a licence to display it within the platform as needed for grading, peer review, and discussion features.
We may remove user content that violates these Terms or our Code of Conduct.
Acceptable Use
You will not:
- Cheat on assessments, share exam answers, or impersonate another student.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute course materials outside what your enrolment permits.
- Attempt to access another user's account, instructor dashboard, or admin area.
- Upload malware, phishing content, or anything that compromises platform security.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any other user (see Code of Conduct).
- Use the platform to post commercial spam.
Intellectual Property
Course content, the IESF Academy brand, the platform's code and design — all of these are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from them except as your enrolment permits, or with our written consent.
Termination
You can close your account any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, abuse the platform, or fail to pay for a paid course. We will refund any unused paid enrolments unless the termination is for fraud or serious misconduct.
Disclaimers
The Academy is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or specific learning outcomes. Certificates demonstrate completion of the assessed work — they don't guarantee employment, career outcomes, or recognition by any third party except where IESF has explicitly accredited a certification.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IESF Academy and IESF are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to a paid course is limited to the amount you paid for that course.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, where IESF is headquartered. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussion will be settled by the courts of Seoul.
